One of the most versatile items you can use in your vintage style bathroom is the mason jar. It offers such a simplistic charm and can be used in a variety of ways to enhance your space. By getting creative, this regular old canning jar can be transformed into a beautiful item for your bathroom.
Soap dispenser
You can actually create your very own soap dispenser using a mason jar. Paint it a color that matches your bathroom style or keep it clear. All you need for this DIY project is a mason jar with a lid, a plastic soap dispenser, epoxy, tools to cut a hole in the lid, and if you would like, spray paint in the color of your choice.
Wall decor
Take advantage of wall space in your bathroom by hanging a few mason jars. Fill them with blooms for a bit of color or pack them with sand and a few battery-powered tea light candles. This gives off a soft glow in your antique bathroom. For a fun vintage look, attach the jars to a piece of weathered wood on the wall using hose clamps and screws.
Storage
Put a few empty mason jars on the surface of your sink or hang them up on the wall. Designate each jar for a different item. One can be used for storing cotton swabs, the other can hold toothbrushes, and another can be filled with bars of soap, bath salts or makeup. This keeps clutter off of your counters and provides easy access when you need any of these essentials.
Chandelier
It’s important to pay attention to the lighting in your bathroom. Too many bright lights can create a harsh feel. Instead, combine layers of ambient and task lighting to provide enough brightness throughout the room without overwhelming the space. A chandelier could be considered accent lighting, and is perfect for an antique-style interior design. For a fun DIY project, group together mason jars filled with battery-powered candles and hang them from the ceiling.
