Different Styles of Clawfoot Tub Feet

Nothing completes the classic look of a clawfoot bathtub like matching feet. These sturdy metal feet must support the weight of a filled and occupied tub, but they do it all in style. Speaking of style, a homeowner has many styles to choose from when picking matching feet for their tub. Consider the following options that are all available here at Kingston Brass.
One of the most common styles for clawfoot tub feet is known as the ball and claw. The common theme is a three-toed bird-like claw down the front of the foot with a ball or other rounded shape at the bottom. The claw will look like it’s gripping or holding the ball in most designs. These designs are easy to keep clean and give a clawfoot bathtub an authentic look.
For a more ornate style that’s reminiscent of the Victorian era, consider the Imperial claw. This variation of the traditional ball and claw design includes extra ornamentation around the top and bottom of each foot. While the fluting and scrolls may add to the appearance of the feet, it also makes cleaning a little more complicated.
Not a fan of the classic claw? Consider the figurative lion’s paw instead. With no ball at the bottom, the paw on this type of footrests directly on the ground. It’s still a traditional style but offers a little more of a streamlined and contemporary style for a transitional bathroom. Imperial-style lion’s paw feet are also available with extra decoration at the top and a simple paw at the bottom.
If none of these feet fit a particular bathroom style, pedestal-style bathtubs are also available. While these tubs are often called pedestal clawfoot tubs, the designs technically don’t feature any feet. They’re a good choice when a homeowner wants a smooth surface to clean around rather than under.
