Pinterest, or what we like to call it, the modern day scrapbook, is one of the most commonly used search engines for gathering inspiration and resources. This unique interface allows you to “pin” things you like in “boards” to see your design ideas come to life. Get inspired by following users or boards with a similar stylistic flair as you build your own remodeling plans.
As you continue to use it, Pinterest will learn about what you like, making it a fun and easy to use tool. It’s very realistic to focus both on intricate design details and whole room concepts here, such as a vintage farmhouse inspired kitchen design. And as an added bonus, you can shop online with it, too! If you’re looking for specific items to add to your bathroom or kitchen renovation, most of the pictures are linked to another website that may help you find the item you’re looking for or go into more detail about the space.
Similar to a magazine, Instagram is full of wondrous pictures from people all over the world. Lots of home bloggers use it to share their process and experience when designing their homes through use of hashtags. Some may have a designer background, and some may just be a creative soul whose inventiveness shows in their home. Either way, following along with people’s home builds or a designer’s projects is a great way to get enthused.
The best way to find inspiration on Instagram, is knowing how to use hashtags properly. These are essentially giant photo albums sorted by concept or style. Instagram encourages users to ask questions or start a conversation with others. Find out the most difficult part of a building journey, where someone obtained their furnishings, or where someone found their own inspiration. For the most part, people are willing to help and talk about their experience with home remodeling.
