Some necessary tools and products are the wood board either plywood, MDF, or hardboard are recommended.
Additional wood for a border and hardware to hang the board securely. A must-have is the chalkboard paint and brushes. Chalk can be purchased in a variety of colors to create fun designs.
Accent Wall
An accent wall can be created through the peel and stick tiles, wainscoting, or for a farmhouse feel, wood.
Peel and stick tiles are the most inexpensive and easiest DIY project. As stated in their name, they literally peel and stick to clean, non-textured walls. These can be purchased on Amazon, local hardware stores, and stores like Walmart. These add some dimension to the bathroom with limited resources.
Wainscoting can be a costly project in some cases and is more of a tedious job when it comes to measurements and machinery. Wood is a nice in between the two, it is average in expense and takes a little bit of work.
Wood should be used with heavy consideration because it does need to be sealed from the moisture in the bathroom and also requires tools.
Custom Bathtub Caddy
Many bathtub caddies are made out of wood. Who’s to say you can’t create your own with a twist of personality. This project will require measurements of the bathtub for length and stain or paint for style. A sealant is also recommended for this project because of the wood material. If cup holders, book holders or even candle holders are wanted in the design, cutting that out will be another route in the project. In the end, it is likely to be more cost-effective and completely your own design.
Mason Jar Décor
Mason jars are inexpensive and make for fun and creative décor pieces in the bathroom. The jars commonly can be purchased in bulk for around $10 or individually, they may be found at dollar stores. They can be used as toothbrush tumblers or house fake or real plants. With a little bit of creativity, the mason jars can be painted in a stylish color or be left clear for a minimalist design.
