What comes to your mind when you think of summer? When I think about summer, I think of family get-togethers, barbecues, fruity cocktails, bar prep faucets, and Jimmy Buffet, but that’s just me. Why do I think about bar prep faucets, you ask? It’s true, bar prep faucets tend to do more prepping than bar-tending these days, but the best parties I’ve ever been to always seem to have one of these little guys out in the backyard installed in the outdoor countertop right next to the grill.
Everyone is all together, enjoying good food and drinks all in one place. That’s the magic of having a secondary bar prep faucet; it keeps people closer so that the conversation and festivities can go on without any hiccups (you can save the hiccups for later). I can’t imagine a successful BBQ without a bar prep faucet, but I have a case of incredibly high standards.
In all honesty, bar prep faucets don’t have that much to do with cocktails, but when has that ever stopped anyone from enjoying a mixed drink? So without further ado, here are three tipsy tasters and their perfect bar prep faucet pairings!
I have fond memories of Portland Summers on the waterfront with a moscow mule in hand, so for me, this is the pinnacle of summer drinks. If the sun hasn’t woken you up quite yet, then this cocktail’s crisp citrus fragrance crossed with a kick from the vodka that’s not quite as strong as a horse, but stronger than a donkey, definitely will.
2 oz Vodka (Or 4 0z! Or 6!)
2 oz Lime juice (Fresh lime makes a difference!)
8 oz Ginger Beer (Ginger Ale works too, but your friends won’t be as impressed!)
What faucet could hope to match a drink of such happily bubbling effervescence?
This bar prep faucet’s liquescent curves and golden gleam give an impression of flowing ambrosia. Wash your hands while sipping that moscow mule of yours for a little glimpse of paradise.
The moscow mule may be my go-to for the summertime, but something would be amiss without some sangria for everyone to share. Pulling a summer gathering together with a beautiful pitcher of sangria is an excellent way of broadcasting that you are not only cultured and mature but also fun!
2 bottles of Red wine
1 cup of sugar
2 cups hot water
1 sliced apple
Orange wedges
Lime wedges
Lemon wedges
Sparkling flavored soda (Fresca is always a safe bet.)
A drink as smile-inducing as sangria deserves a faucet to match.
A familiar, yet exotic faucet that accomplishes fun without sacrificing function. Using this sinks dainty handle will leave you feeling as fancy-free as an empty glass of that sangria.
Sangria is a drink for sharing; the lone tree cooler is not. The lone tree cooler is so refreshing that you will have drank it before anyone even has a chance to ask for a sip. If you do manage to make some for your guests, the conversation will most likely be reduced to long pauses interspersed with short quips like “This is the life.”, “What a gorgeous day.” and “I should buy a boat.”
Juice of 1/4 lemon
Juice of 1 orange
Orange spiral
Lemon peel
1/3 oz French vermouth
2/3 oz dry gin
But is there a faucet that can match the coolness of a lone tree cooler? Why, yes there is.
This faucets cross-shaped handles are reminiscent of tiny umbrellas perfect for keeping you cool…! Alright, this last comparison is a stretch, but if you’ve read this far and still feel bothered by the fact that I’m comparing Faucets to cocktails, then you should probably find a lawn chair and just have that drink already.
