KSRP1291CC Cold Ceramic Disc Cartridge (1 Piece), Polished Chrome

The ceramic disc cartridge is the heart of the faucet, controlling its temperature and water flow. Internally, two opposing discs made out of ceramic carbide rotate to control the flow of water. Because ceramic carbide is impervious to friction, it can last for many years before needing replacement. This cold-side stem cartridge with a 3/8" x 16 spline broach.

ceramic discs

There are 2 ceramic discs in cartridge, 1 has raised hourglass shape and the other is open hourglass. The open one broke inside the faucet I bought in 2016. When I received cartridge, the new open hourglass had a 1/4 inch chip and again left me with cold water faucet leak! please send replacement disc or 2 ASAP

Good but way overpriced

I was stuck getting a replacement stem from the manufacturer because retail stores weren't stocking it. Factoring in the extortionist price for shipping (I had to pay extra so I wouldn't be waiting weeks for it to arrive), I ended up paying three times as much as I would have at a store.
