The Finish:

Polished Brass was much more popular in the 80s and 90s but because it had a tendency to tarnish, designers moved on to other finishes. The tarnish issue was eliminated by the introduction of PVD technology in 1994, but by then, it had lost most of its popularity. Now it has re-emerged and is in demand once again.
