With July coming to a peaceful end, August boasts more than the peak of the summer heat. The upcoming month brings the anticipation of back-to-school season. Your child may worry about the end of summer, but as a parent, you may be worrying about how to prepare for the new school year that is fast approaching. If the stress of buying new clothes and shoes, and backpacks full of journals and colored pencils aren’t enough, there’s also another issue of this year’s newest back-to-school season: your kitchen.
Since your kitchen is the heart of your home, it will be the hot spot for a quick breakfast or preparing lunches for the next day or late evening snacks. It will see a lot of action this year and it needs to be ready for it all.
To help lessen your stresses during this season, Kingston Brass has a list of how you can get your kitchen ready for the new school year.
1. A lot of clean-up wipes
Let’s be honest, kids are messy. No matter what age they are, from toddlers to teens, all kids can be unkempt. You may think that it helps that they are in a grade up, but this year won’t be any different in the messes department. So it’s best to have clean up wipes on standby. To make it even easier for you, we recommend spot-resistant brushed nickel faucets and appliances just to prevent any more messes that are sure to happen in a busy household.
2. Easy to use appliances
For a kid, their day is done when they come home from school, but yours isn’t. When they come home, your day is still running because now you have to worry about snacks and dinner. You’re going to need appliances you can rely on like your best friend in the midst of this unpredictable school year. We recommend a single handle pull-out faucet, so easy to use that turning the water on only involves the flick of your hand.
3. Sturdy fixtures
Sometimes, if you have a young child, they can be your little helper. If you’re cooking, they want to cook with you; if your’re cleaning, they want to clean with you. They’re basically a mini-you. So make sure your kitchen is kid-friendly this school year by getting sturdy fixtures and appliances that can withstand those little kiddos. We recommend getting a wall mount kitchen faucet, a feature that is out of their way and made of sturdy brass.
