Make your morning routine easier with these organization tips

Everyone has a certain routine they go through in the bathroom in the morning to prepare for their day. Some mornings, you may sleep past your alarm or simply be in a rush to get out the door. You can make your life and your routine a bit easier by designing your bathroom in a functional manner.

Proper lighting
If the lights in your bathroom are too dim, it may be hard to find essentials or to be sure your makeup is just perfect. Use a combination of ambient, accent and task lighting to provide the necessary glow for your morning routine. These types of lighting work well together to keep every nook of your bathroom properly lit. Just one overhead light doesn’t always do the trick – in fact, that may be too bright. And who wants to be blinded when they walk into the bathroom each morning? You can also install a dimmer to allow your eyes to adjust to the light and make the space as bright or as dark as you would like it.

A Lazy Susan
Instead of rummaging through your cabinets in the morning trying to find everything you need, organize your makeup or toiletries on a Lazy Susan. This way, all you have to do is spin it, making each product easy to reach. You can organize drawers in your vanity in a similar manner by using drawer dividers.

Over-the-door storage
Hang a shoe organizer over the back of your bathroom door for an easy way to store all of your hair tools like blow dryers, flat irons and curling irons. This is the perfect alternative to storing them all in one drawer, where their cords can get intertwined and tangled.

Incorporate splashes of color
Bright colors can help to wake you up and make you feel refreshed for the day. Even if you have a neutral colored bathroom, you can bring in bright hues through things like flowers, towels, rugs, shower curtains and antique tubs.

Towel ladder
Keep bath towels out of your way by storing them on an old ladder. A ladder contributes to an antique or rustic bathroom design and gives you a place to keep all of your damp towels so they don’t end up on the floor or the counter.

Magnets
Fix a sheet of steel onto the inside of your medicine cabinet so that you can install magnetic hooks. These hooks can be used to store anything from tiny scissors to hair clips, rubber bands and eyelash curlers.
