While traditional styling has always been in demand in the kitchen/bath industry, adding more from the norm is an action that Kingston Brass has performed for many years.
The Restoration, Heritage and Metropolitan, three of Kingston Brass’ popular collections (now known as the Restoration-Onyx, Heritage-Onyx and Metropolitan-Onyx) have re-emerged but with a slightly different look.
A number of faucets from each of the three collections are now unveiled with ‘onyxed’ black porcelain material on its lever handles (and cross lever handles).
Regarded as captivating and elegant in design, the early Americana theme of the Heritage and Restoration collection are a few of Kingston Brass’ popular suites. Given its timeless traditional look and graceful lines, the black porcelain addition will portray a different, unique look giving another design option to designers.
The Metropolitan collection is best known for its faceted architecture with its grooves and lineaments similar to a gemstone. These faucets were first introduced in the early 20th century with its luxuriant masculine styling and will also be viewed differently flaunting the black porcelain look.
“We wanted to bring out several products from a number of our most popular collections and present something different,” said James Choy, marketing manager. “We’re very pleased to see an immediate positive response with these faucets—the black porcelain handles add a stylish flair and will empower homeowners to boldly transform their homes."
The collection will also feature kitchen faucets and Roman tub fillers adding more style with the black porcelain element, Choy said.
To elaborate, the black porcelain or “black china” material is extremely durable from its formation of glass and mullite, a rare silicate mineral used as refractory material. The black porcelain is a ceramic that possesses high resistance to chemical attack and abrasion.
“The porcelain material is appealing but also well-received from homeowners who want to add extra color to their décor,” said Gary Lu, merchandising manager. “The black porcelain idea is a rare element for kitchen/bath design but is complimentary as a color with surrounding elements.”
The faucets from all three collections will be available in Kingston Brass’ general four finishes—Polished Chrome, Polished Brass, Oil-Rubbed Bronze and Satin Nickel.
“We’re never afraid to combine different elements together,” Lu added. “Kingston Brass has always been fearless with its distinct design and color blends. We’re always looking to provide more solutions with aesthetics and functionality.”
