FSCRP1971HC Hot Ceramic Disc Cartridge (1 Piece), Raw

The ceramic disc cartridge is the heart of the faucet, controlling its temperature and water flow. Internally, two opposing discs made out of ceramic carbide rotate to control the flow of water. Because ceramic carbide is impervious to friction, it can last for many years before needing replacement.

A little concerned

After speaking with a representative, I placed my order. It arrived fairly quickly. I replaced it, and my faucet is not leaking and is working properly. The bathroom faucets were originally installed about 6-7 years before I noticed leaking. I took it a part and determined that I needed a new cartridge. The cartridge had "worn" very near the bottom on the outside where the cartridge fit in to a slot pn both sided. This part of the cartridge appears to be nylon and I suspect it may wear again. I plan on being more "delicate" when turning the faucet on or off.
