Incorrect diverter cartridge.

The diverter cartridge did not fit but fortunately, my son was able to remove the new rubber covering from the new cartridge and fit it onto the old cartridge. So far it is working. My faucet is called Aqua vintage #AE557T8 and apparently the old cartridge was discontinued and the cartridge that was recommended has a larger size "half moon" bottom.
