Start by looking for any caulking or sealant around the faucet. Utilize a knife or razor to remove the sealant.

Next, find the screw that is holding the faucet into place. Generally, this screw will be located on the bottom of the spout. You will need to remove the screw by using the appropriate wrench. Most commonly, this will require an Allen wrench.

After you remove the screw, pull the bathtub spout out from the wall.

Removing a Threaded Tub Spout

If you have a threaded tub spout, you’re in luck. These bathtub spouts are extremely simple to remove. Using a large wrench, simply grab the spout with the wrench and start turning it counterclockwise.
