About Polished Chrome:
Polished Chrome was the most popular finish in plumbing and door hardware products, especially in Europe, Asia and South America. Its durability might be the reason why it was in demand. While it still remains and continues enduring for so many years, there was a time in the past when the finish was in many products.
Polished chrome is an electroplated finish (Which retained durability from nickel-plating bumpers and coating it with chrome). It is a cold color meaning it consists of a stark silver color. Many industry people feel polished chrome is easy to work with and fits into most decor depending on the faucet style. The finish glistens and stands apart from surrounding decor allowing its design to be spotted from afar. The purity of its silver can also be a neutral tone with surrounding items that are either light or dark.
Q: How do I maintain the finish on my faucet? What should I use to clean it?
A: Preserving the finish of your faucets begins with proper installation. Make sure to avoid using Plumber’s
Putty as this will void the warranty as well as affect the durability of your finish. A silicon-based sealant is
recommended. You can use a non-abrasive mild soap to clean the faucet. The surface of your Kingston
Brass faucet is non-porous, so there should not be any need for any h arsh clean
ing agents. In addition to
that, you may apply carnauba wax to the surface of your faucet to help prolong its shine and extend the
durability of your faucet.
Q: What is the GPM (Gallons per minute) or flow rate per faucet? Does this vary by model? If so, give
the range.
A: All Kingston Brass faucets meet or exceed the CEC Title 20 law which requires that all faucets be limited
to a flow rate of 1.2 GPM at 60 PSI for lavatory faucets and 1.8 GPM at 60 PSI for kitchen faucets. These flow
rates are the same for all models of lavatory and kitchen faucets, respectively.
Q: My faucet is leaking. What should I do?
A: Identify the source of the leak — Does the faucet leak through the spout when the valve is closed? If yes,
then you most likely have a defective cartridge or spring and washer depending on the type of faucet you
have. Kingston Brass sells many different types of faucets. If you know the model number of your faucet,
you can call us and we will gladly identify the correct part number to order. If you do not know the model
